Clips
Match video clips and how they work
A clip is a video segment capturing a single FTC match, auto and teleop periods included; with metadata attached: teams, scores, match number, event, and timestamps.
Finding clips
Clips are browsable by event, team, match number, or recency. Navigate to an event page to see all clips from a competition, or go to a team page to find every match they have footage for.
Quality
Clips are available in up to 1080p depending on the source stream. Quality is tied to whatever the organizer streamed. Clipfarm doesn't upscale. During periods of high traffic, available resolutions or bandwidth may be limited to maintain performance for all users.
| Resolution | Available when |
|---|---|
| 1080p | Source stream is 1080p or higher |
| 720p | Always available |
| 480p | Always available (mobile-friendly) |
Streaming & scalability
Clipfarm uses HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) to deliver match footage. HLS breaks video into small segments, letting us scale to thousands of concurrent viewers during high-traffic events. Clips are optimized for browser playback and sharing rather than direct file downloads.
Sharing & embedding
Each clip has a permanent URL at /clips/[clipId]. You can copy an embed code to use clips on your own site, or save clips to a playlist from the watch page.
Notifications
Signed-in users can subscribe to clip-ready notifications and receive a push alert when a clip from a match they care about is processed. Configure this under Dashboard → Settings → Notifications.
Storage
Clips in the first 30 days are on warm storage and load fast. After that they move to archival; still accessible indefinitely, just with a slightly longer initial load.
Content removal
Clipfarm operates under fair use for educational and scouting purposes. To request removal of a clip, email legal@clipfarm.watch with the clip URL and your reason. We review within 7 days.
